I read an article, in _Liberty_ I believe, that stated Kevorkian does not
believe in self-ownership but in a doctor's and society's right to
euthanize. If this is true, he's no champion of liberty and can join Peter
Singer as a champion of the same ideals as were extolled by certain groups
who will remain unmentioned lest the thread devolve to purely emotional
rants (again:).
I hope I am wrong here.
That said, I can understand some people being in favor of antisuicide laws.
They might argue, on purely practical grounds that it might increase the
rate of murder. After all, they tell me, if someone can get a doctor to rub
someone out... Not that I agree here, but you can see, I'm sure, the horror
scenario in this.
