Well, he did say something that was extremely controversial in certain circles, he said that
the global extinction of the human race would be worse than the personal embarrassment
of a political leader, sometimes called preserving the nation's honor and glory.

He said 20 years ago that an effective missile defense can not be made with 1980 technology
and in retrospect there is not the slightest doubt that he was absolutely correct, we can't do it
with year 2000 technology either. He also said that a star wars system that didn't work
and technologically illiterate leaders who thought it would is a prescription for disaster.
