Our brain structures must be vastly different. I'm "bombarded" with the same
messages, but don't seem to be wearing anything with a brand name on it. I
don't have cable and don't even turn the tv on except for when watching
something from the VCR, and I buy my clothes at thrift stores. I have never
heard a commercial that made me stand up in a zombie-like manner and begin
walking to the mall saying "MUST.. BUY.. BIG MAC.. AND NIKES". If you do,
then just stop doing it. It's not blindness, it's free will.

Give some specifics, this is to vague for me to suggest any remedy for you.
But I'll reiterate that I am subject to the same advertising messages that
you are, but am in no way "enslaved to materialism". Everything I purchase
is useful to me and purchased voluntarily.
