I'm not a member of EXI, but it seems to me that what it means to join as a
dues-paying member is that you help fund (in "Extropian-speak")"meme
propagation." That means that your money probably goes to getting out the
word to everyone in this world (who can read) that we can take charge of
entropy and bend this universe to our will. Maybe we can, and maybe we
can't, but there is an old saying among English farmers: "live like you'll
die tomorrow, and farm like you'll live forever." So we really should, to
maximize this life we have, make plans to live forever. That's the only
realistic choice we have. Extropianism and transhumanism is all about
spreading these ideas, Ian. EXI membership benefits may be hard to quantify
for many, many years.
