If you're saying what I think you're saying (that the sort of Eastern
Epicureanism of Guatama Siddhartha got corrupted into a 'magical
thinking' mumbo-jumboey sort of pseudo-mystical mish-mash), the
corruption, if such it be, started in India long before Buddhism reached
Tibet. I think (and as I understand it, most Buddhist scholars think)
that the Tibetans pretty faithfully copied the actual philosophy and
Buddhist teaching they got from their Indian teachers (they bolted on
some Shamanism, true, but the core teachings were kept remarkably well).
