Admittedly, this is the slipperiest of the slippery slope arguments; but a
fetus is *not* a member of society. Once the baby pops out of the womb and
is no longer dependent upon the umbilical cord for its sustenance it is
legally a member of society. *That* whether or not it rings true for you
from a moral standpoint is the law, and that is the difference.
