Apropos bandwidth... Lucent Bell Labs said on Netword+Interop in Las Vegas they had 10 GBit Ethernet on multimode fiber ready in the drawer. Pluris has a TBit router with a 184 TBps optical backplane. Specs for TBit Ethernet are purportedly also in the works.
