Regarding Mark's comments about the message of an ad getting lost in the noise (visuals, celebrity endorser, etc.), this is a common problem in advertising. Saatchi & Saatchi are probably the archtypical ad agency re putting creativity over strategy (ie, getting the message across). Same with the Diesel (Jeans) ads - they look cool, but unless you've followed them closely, what are they promoting?
