I keep seeing this question pop up on the list. I recall asking it, in
different forms, myself within the past year or so. Might this be a
good question for the FAQ? (Which I note is currently down on the
site, with an ETA of "towards the end of December", implied December
2000 from the date of the note at http://www.extropy.org/faq/faq.htm .)
