I think Greg Burch wrote a thoughtful and insightful message today. It
sums up much of my own thinking, and I'm glad he wrote it.
List administration looks at the facts and follows the rules. Simply.
Mike got a warning for attacks and he continued. He was removed. If this
is a problem for anyone on this list, either deal with it or not. But to
continue harping on it and whining about it and trying to further problems,
it is not productive to anyone, including Mike Lorrey. It makes him look
weak, and I don't think Mike is weak. Instead, Mike's "supporters" could
have taken this opportunity to encourage extropic topics and level heading
thinking.
The mistake list administration has done is not to have had more than one
moderator and also not enforcing list rules. If a handful of you all who
want to tar and feather the "list administration" because you think a
poster has every right to speak his/her views no matter who they affect, no
matter if the accusations are right or wrong, no matter if they are
purposefully intended to poison the well, no matter how inaccurate,
libelous or yellow dog, then you are not reading this list rules. If you
want this type of freedom to be brazen, false, and impolite, than you will
not find it here.
This list was founded for extropic thinking. Show a little of it. Move on
and maybe we will all be the wiser and better communicators.
