Extropes -
We are in the process of changing our "extropian" list. I'll be making an
announcement about the new lists very soon. Up until our new lists are
generated, please help to make this "extropians" list a smart and pleasant
place to discuss, debate and challege ideas.
Regarding the "extropians" list, we have now tightened our belt and are
taking subscribers off the list who have abused list rules in the past and
those who continue to disrespect the ideas and values of ExI, "extropians"
and list members. We have asked over and over again to please post with a
sense of respect to others and we have always welcomed criticism, when done
productively. Not all criticism is productive. Some criticism is harmful
to our community. I have received so many complaints from list members
about out of hand postings that I have had default to either asking people
to take a break from the list or remove them from the list.
In September, when the new lists are generated, everyone's slat will be
wipped clean and anyone who has left the list will be welcomed back. Yet,
our rules will be enforced more tightly so we do not have to repeat past
problems.
