As a blood donor, I agree. The from not only won't let anyone who
admits to even a single homosexual act since (I forger) donate, it also
won't allow people who have visited Britain, or various other countries,
or used any intravenous drug, or several other things that I don't
remember because they don't apply to me donate blood.

I believe that if you know you have AIDS and donate blood anyway, that
it's a felony, but I admit to being uncertain about that. (Again, it
didn't apply, so I didn't pay much attention.) And not just AIDS. I
think they have the same rules for hepatitis. And possibly other
diseases (Chargas disease? I seem to remember it, but have no idea what
    it is.)
