I'd pit any one of Bush's crew against the entire combined IQ of the
    anti-war Hollywoodites.

British experience in bringing order to conquered people usually
involved lots of executions, imprisonments, and forced exile. They used
to like the raping, but that petered out when they started liking their
own subalterns bums more. (speaking, of course, as the descendant of
    transportees)

I don't think that experience would carry over very well to the present
age when the arab world finds 1000 civilian deaths 'excessive'.

I beleive that the enlightened liberals in both the US State Department
and the British Foreign Office will find excuses to continue on with
social engineering experiments and UN horse puckey till the cows come
home. If we instead make it an abbreviated version of MacArthurs
governorship of Japan, with a rapid establishment of a domestic native
government, as Bush seems to want, I think the peace can only be lost
if the Iraqi people themselves are determined to lose it.
