Jefferson was first and foremost a politician, so his exposition of
the ideas was never intended to have any philosophical rigor, only
emotional impact. Where I depart from Mr. Corbin is that I /do/ find
that there is a rational formulation for such a thing as
"natural rights", but I must agree with him wholeheartedly that
nothing Jefferson ever said on the subject is worthy of philosphical
note, though of course it is all quite historically important.
