Just for the record, I was told a few years ago that the Clan Crusader
(GRP-bodied sports car from Ireland) is allowed to compete in rallies
without the usual metal roll-cage to protect the inhabitants. Since
these cars are expected to crash into trees at high speed or roll down
hillsides, it must be pretty tough.
