Try re-reading the passage several times. It is an empty can, which has
a logo of a wavy ribbon. The meme is the message used to market the
product, which is identified with the logo. THe product is simply
sugared water with phosophor compound based flavoring. It does require
some intelligence to figure out, but its a rather funny passage, much
like one I've heard about future archaeologists digging up auto hood
ornaments and deducing that our society worships many different gods,
who go by the names of 'Ford', 'Chrysler', 'Buick', 'Mercedes', 'Volvo',
etc... and that each individual adult, when they turn 16, adopts a
particular god as their personal guide in the world....
