I kind of wonder if that might not, in some sense, be true. Look at the quote
from Newton, claimming that he ...studied nature as a child might on the
beach, a shiner shell, a smoother pebble...
Perhaps the creative playfulness that children exibit, are exemplified by
some inventors, and researchers, provide a bit of this behavior?
