I don't speak for Tom Whore, but I personally no longer respect the IP,
largely due to aggressive attempts to enforce it, as recently attempted by
middlemen. This particularly applies to software patents, audio, video and
print. Some backpressure is in order, though the creators of course need
to receive compensation -- directly.
The CRCs and Elseviers of this world can put their copyright where the sun
doesn't shine.
