Ja, I wouldnt recommend it as a vacation spot. There is a reason why
I put "houses" in quotes. It is a good place for collecting ants however.

The China Lake firing range is a place I want to go ant collecting
some time, but it is restricted access, for a good reason. If one has
a good reason for going up on those ranges, and one knows the right
person, one can gain access. But ant collecting is not a good reason:
they would grow suspicious that you are looking for endangered
species. I suspect there are species up on those ranges that
have never been identified. spike
