       If we want a good analysis of economic development in the modern world
we might get a copy of The Lexus and the Olive Tree. The author presents an
extremely good case for his viewpoint and he presents much more light than
heat.
      You might take this as an example of the high esteem in which I hold
the author and his book -- I am pretty sure the author and I are in
diametrically opposite positions politically and yet I think his analysis is
dead on.
