Or maybe Cheney and Powell. Some friends of mine believe that a sort of
mini-coup occurred during the attack. And that Bush has been reduced (if
he wasn't already) to a figurehead. Perhaps all that flying around Bush
was doing was intended to keep him out of the way while the real
government could deal with the crisis. Bush's unfortunate use of the
C-word can be seen as an fumbling effort to re-assert himself. They
obviously didn't prep him for that one.
