No, you come from a certain parallel universe where Vernor Vinge was mainly
interested in the effects of intelligence amplification, although he
suggested that other approaches to the singularity are possible.
In this universe we are mainly discussing Jeremy Rifkins idea of the
singularity (mainly wildly evolving AI), while Vinge writes dystopian
sf/social commentary about a future where everything is predictable and
static.
