Maybe being a bonefide psychic causes terrible personal problems, resulting
in you winding up in the Salvation Army shelter?
In Australia, the Salvos are one of the organisations that run (now
outsourced) job placement agencies for the government. Maybe they ought to
set up psychic hotlines, given the natural talent at their disposal? If they
got the really gibbering people who need to be in mental care facilities but
are not, possibly they could do a "phone line to god" service, using the
Salvation Army name to give it credibility.
