I can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't reply because I had already
stated my opinion on the subject many times before (not on this list, though.)
I don't think that we (the economic superpowers) have a mandate to
interfere with the affairs of other countries when they don't threaten the
life and livelihood of our citizens. I can think of a thousand better
things to spend my tax dollars on than shooting eastern Europeans when
they're perfectly happy to shoot each other for free.
That's not a particularly humanitarian sentiment, but I never suggested
that I was a humanitarian..
