The Middle East for sure, possibly near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers -
that's where Eden was supposed to be, anyway. A tidal wave in the
Mediterranean is what I have imagined, possibly caused by a large meteor
strike between Italy and Africa. This might explain why so many peoples in
the general area have similar flood stories..
