I was very sorry to read about your dad. I lost my father a couple of years
ago (but he lived to the age of 82) and still feel the loss deeply -- my dad
was the one who turned me on to the wonders of science at an early age and I
will cherish the memory of warm summer nights beneath the Texas sky with him
and the telescope he bought for us for as many years (or millennia) as I
shall live.
As I said when one of my other great heroes, Frank Zappa, was taken too
early, "This death thing has GOT to stop!"

"We never stop investigating. We are never satisfied that we know
enough to get by. Every question we answer leads on to another
question. This has become the greatest survival trick of our species."
