No way. I taught my son to count like this:
Daddy, may I have some candy?
Sure, son, how much would you like?
Five.
(I give him three)
Thanks, dad!
How many did I give you son?
Hmmmmmm. Three, hey! Give me more.
How many more, son?
etc.
My son can count/ad/subtract and he's 3 1/2!
Skepticism is a very very good teacher.
"What does not kill us makes us stronger."
Now I just have to teach him that he can trust me SOMETIMES.
Anyone think I'm a monster?
