NOOOOO! Mistake!
There are two attacks currently running wild around the web.
The SoBig attack is an email virus which attacks all Windows versions
including 9x and XP. An infected PC will try to send out emails to every
address the virus can find on that PC. (Not just in the address book).
There is no point in bouncing the infected SoBig emails because they
probably did not come from the address on the header and your anti-virus
software should be set to just delete them.
The other current attack is the Lovesan worm which attacks the Windows
2000 and XP generation of software. This does not propagate by email. It
propagates by TCP and UDP ports 135 that have been left open. MS have a
patch for this. Though it should be blocked by your firewall.
(What do you mean - you haven't got a firewall?
Get ZoneAlarm now! free download).
All the anti-virus software programs have updated their protection so
make sure you are up-to-date also.
And go to Windows Update to get all the latest MS patches.
Don't give up the battle just yet!
Best of luck, BillK
