...I've spend the entire last day doing interviews with various
reporters. My
15 minutes of infame, to match my promised 15 minutes of fame. Will go
back to my usual oddball, sometimes-posting self in a few days I
suppose...Robin Hanson.
Robin, I will get my 15 minutes of fame just from be
acquainted with you. The front page banner headline of
the San Francisco Chronicle, above the Bob Hope news,
was the DARPAs terrorist betting story. They took
your name in vain early and often. The San Jose
Merc also ran a big article, but on page 3, and no
mention of Dr. Hanson. Between them, thats a
couple million pairs of eyes. Saved both articles,
shall I mail them?
I showed the story around the office and saw something
that I am at a loss to explain. There was about an
evenly divided opinion, but the for/against axis
went roughly along the conservative/liberal faultline.
Can anyone offer an explanation to why the rightwing
and upwing types tended toward favoring the idea and
the others opposed?
