Dorgan, a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee: "We
need to focus our resources on responsible intelligence gathering, on real
terrorist threats. Spending millions of dollars on some kind of fantasy
league terror game is absurd and, frankly, ought to make every American
angry. What on Earth were they thinking?"

<rant>Oh, I *am* angry. I'm angry that a gov't official funded by my tax
dollars, supposedly a defender of democracy and capitalism, would say
    this.

What were they thinking? Perhaps they were thinking that a market would
do a better job predicting the likelihood of terrorist attacks than the
Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. Perhaps they were thinking
that people like Dorgan should be out of a job and doing REAL work for
which people *voluntarily* pay him a wage.

Unlike Dorgan, I know *exactly* what Poindexter and the members of the
Senate Defense Apprpriations Subcommittee were thinking: money spent
creating futures markets means less money for the Totalitarian Information
    Awareness network. </rant>

    Good luck, Robin.
