While we hardly have a need for hiding our identity (most of the
time) we seem to use some of our jargon as ways of detecting other
transhumanists. A few here might remember the hotel foyer at Extro 3
when the arrival of some Swedes talking nanotech caused almost a dozen
of previously isolated transhumanists to crystalize around the nucleus.
The problem is of course that many terms are getting too mainstream
(just look at my terminology page! how much has changed since those
days!), so we invent new catchphrases not just for new concepts, but to
stand out.
