How would you collect if someone hijacked your
email address and sent out a billion spams? How
would we collect from those Nigerian bankers, etc.
Actually I see spam as causing the rise of a
major driver toward the singularity: it creates
the need for ever more sophisticated software
to filter the stuff. Recall that mosquito control
efforts have resulted in some of our best
environmental-modifcation technology. Spam is
the mosquito of the e-world.
