    Extropes,

When I first read this I thought it was nifty.
    Perhaps worth posting.

Hot mist strips salt from the sea

    Then I read this:

    http://www.aquasonics.com/PDF/execsum.pdf

    Described as:

       "AquaSonics Executive Summary
       A Description of company business,
       summary of financial projections,
       and projected Pro Forma IPO"
                 [three pages]

    wherein we find the following:

Demand: The demand for desalinated water exceeds $120
    billion dollars annually.

    [and]

    5) Byproduct: Generate a saleable commodity that is
worth twice the cost of water generated The RSE(tm)
[Rapid Spray Evaporation] technology creates a
marketable dry product or heavy slurry of “salts” that
can be mined for minerals and then processed for
building products, road deicing, or used as a key
ingredient for manufacturing of chlorine used in the
    garment, paper and other industries.

Economic Benefits / Profits: The Table below shows the
benefits to a municipality if they use RSE in
conjunction with an RO facility to handle the waste
brine. The RO facility requires 45 mgd of feed water
to generate the 25 mgd of fresh water. It therefore
generates 20 mgd of waste brine at 5.7% salinity. If
RSE is used in conjunction with RO for this facility,
then the waste brine can be converted to fresh water –
thereby generating an 80% increase in fresh water from
25 mgd to 45 mgd, plus generate 4,900 tons of salt per
day with a commercial value in excess of seventy five
    million dollars.

               ---------end excerpt-------------

    Politically, environmentally, and commercially
friendly. A quantum leap in productivity. An
excellent imo investment opportunity. Very extropian
    all around.

    Enjoy.

    Best, Jeff Davis
