The myth continues. Certain items have come to my attention as I refuse to
believe the U.S. would drop the SR-71 without something else in the bag. I
hold card #404 in the Skunkworks and card # 227 in the DragonLady Assoc so
getting sporadic feedback and updates from them and then putting then together
with other knowns the following seems to appear. Feedback required and wanted
from amoung those who worked the SR and U-2 programs, all others are also
invited to. Maybe we can put together at least a small piece of the action.
KNOWN. Sats cannot cover with any certainty and time frame either of the above
a/c could cover with the flexibility they could. Plus the dash and time frame
of the SR or the loiter of the U-2R and later.. KNOWN. The U-2 manufacturing
line was reopened apx 2 years ago and to my knowledge (what they let you know)
is still going strong. A minimum of 4 ladies have been flying the U-2s for
some time now. Names are in the last Skunkworks missile. KNOWN. Area 51 has
shown a remarable decrease of visual sightings of the doughnut shaped contrails
so indiginous to the type of engine that might power the Aurora. KNOWN. Of the
hundreds of Airstrips left deserted in Austrailia in very deep interior
locations an inordinate number have been stumbled upon that have not only been
improved but lenghthened to accept the high landing speed that an A/C such as
Aurora would require. KNOWN. The outback of that country is the perfect testing
and ccovert flying this project would require. Lets put our collective heads
together and see what we can come up with. FACTS-anyone.
