We still don't have that crucial ability, but we have
things that seem likely to form components of it. MRI
was invented within the past century. Ditto the first
implementations of modern artificial neural nets (I'm
not sure of the exact history; it's possibly a bit
over
a century, which is why I said "or so"). And so forth.
