    Sorry, I was confused and was thinking circularly.

    There is a related argument that says that if there are actually an
    infinite number of splits, you can no longer count the worlds, for they
    are uncountable, and you must introduce a measure. In that case the
    Born measure is arguably at least as natural as the generalization of
    the world-counting one. However most people today don't expect infinite
    dimensions to stay around once QM is fixed up to include gravity.
