I'll probably not vote until it is clear whether or
not vertebrate complexity is significantly greater
than fungi complexity (at the protein level vs. the
gene level).
But I'm certainly willing to step down a step or two
in terms of vertebrates are "so much more complex"
than non-vertebrates in the general terms of our current
knowledge base. That "assertion" may have taken a
significant hit.
