When I was about 14, my friend's father challenged me as to why I did
not believe in god. We discussed for a short time during which he agreed
with all of my arguments. Puzzled, I asked him then why, if he agrees with
me, does he believe in god. He answered quite simply: " I want to believe."
It makes sense to me, put that way.
I am surprised that I haven't seen anyone mention that Einstein
believed in the existence of a god. He was purported to be a genius. "God
does not play dice with the universe." Isn't it right to conclude that
intelligent minds can differ on the issue of a deity?
