I am currently working on creating a 3D printer for myself. I was put off by
the high cost of the systems that are currently available
one thing I do know is that you can fill inkjet cartridges with food dye and
use them just fine. I have done this numerous times.
Creating a system for printing cake tops is a very easy thing to do. A simple
system could be built from a cheap inkjet printer in less than a day, for
about £50
Creating a 3D system has proven to be a tad more expensive and time
consuming.
