As for gene mutations resulting from chemicals or radiation, say, I'm not
sure what you mean by "work," but, fyi, gene mutations were first created by
x rays in fruit flies in 1926. Such experiments continue to this day with a
variety of substances and from a variety of sources. hope this helps.
