Definitely no fan of Chomsky's - I. Neither his politics *nor* his
    views on language and/or/vs. cognition.

But in the cited article is this: " In many ways he epitomised the New
Left and its hatred of "Amerika", a country he believed, through its
policies at home and abroad, had descended into fascism. In his most
famous book of the '60s, American Power and the New Mandarins, Chomsky
said what America needed was "a kind of denazification"."

Given the direction this country is heading right now (has *been*
heading for some time), he may yet prove to be right about facism here.
