Radar and sonar together leaves a blind area 200' above and about 30'
below the surface that torpedos and cruise missiles can penetrate.
Expect that a combination of passive sonar (listening for torp
propellers) and laser scanners to the horizon fill the gap nicely...
What would then be needed is a few Phalanx 20mm gun emplacements in
place of the obsolete 5 inch AA guns, and some anti-torp torpedoes.
