Yes EvMick, it seems the old notion purported by Joe sixpack since the oil
shocks of the 1970's have proven true. There is a tremendous amount of petroleum
available. Its not all under OPEC control. Price mannipulation like we saw
Enron do to California (with the stupidity of government policy) screwed people
over. The article indicated that the petroleum-rich region was only a small
bit of the total world resource available. I hope the research provided by
    Cathles proves true.

    EvMick observed:

<<Cathles and his team estimate that in a study area of about 9,600 square
miles off the coast of Louisiana, source rocks a dozen kilometers down have
generated as much as 184 billion tons of oil and gas — about 1,000 billion barrels
of oil and gas equivalent. "That's 30 percent more than we humans have
consumed over the entire petroleum era," Cathles says**

That's pretty much what I've been hearing from my brother (a formere "senior
geo-phiz......at Texico....now moved on to bigger and better.....)  for
    years.....

More oil than Saudi Arabia he said.....not to mention the fact that it's
renewable...(old "dry" wells no longer dry....etc)
