### I tend to think that the problem is not so much politics, as crappy
writing about politics, or indeed anything else (although politics seems to
bring out the worst in humans on mailing lists, just as in real life). Maybe
a collaborative filtering program would be in order - dues-paying members of
the ExI would have the option of voting a post down (and the replies to it,
if possible), with some number of votes relegating it to ExI B (as in "plan
B"). Thus no abridgement of speech would occur, but a shifting of posts
according to perceived quality.
Of course, as with many vote-based systems, vicious factionalization and
internecine warfare could erupt, but such is the risk of engaging in
politics, isn't it?
