    Natasha -

My preference would be NOT to create a new list. Politics is a part of
extropian and futurist thinking and is interconnected with most other
categories of extropian thought. IMO, trying to segregate political
discussion would be ineffective due to the cross-over of topics, detrimental
to the quality of discussion on the main list due to the restriction on
subject matter that could be discussed, and would actually lower the quality
of the list as arguments would repeatedly flare up about whether or not a
    particular discussion properly "belonged".

    First politics, then religion, then...?

I realize there is already something of a precedent with the topic of guns,
but would prefer we don't choose to continue down that path. Rather, let's
emphasize the use of good list etiquette as Lee and others suggested and
consider it an experiment in extropian community building.
