I agree! Your pledges are great. But haven't we already made pledges?
Doesn't the welcome message set up the rules to avoid ad hominem, insults,
personal attacks, and the like? Why aren't these enforced? I think we
already have agree to half of what you said.
Maybe we can incorporate your excellent reasoning as a basis for these rules
into the welcome message. Maybe we can agree on a few more compromises
(like no rudeness, no unsupported accusations, or better no accusations at
all?) and agree to leave them outside. Even if we can't agree that these
are always wrong, maybe we can just agree not to practice them in here.
