I believe this is simply because Gulf War 2 ended. Acrimony will once again
return to the list when the world changes. Conflicts will divide us, once
again, as they already do. But wars, terrorism, counterattacks, and the like will
raise our awareness; and force us to make choices depending on who we are and
how we view the world. At the end of the day, we are still bound to the
human condition, unless we somehow get into Crazy Eddy mode (Niven) and that, I
am sure depends on improved and new technology.
