Excellent work, Mike! Certainly we should use this opportunity to promote
<Extropy.org> and other transhumanist websites. You certainly would want to
set up a list of "interesting" links if you get Internet Access.
Would you be interested in some on-line stores selling books, magazines,
videos, DVDs, music, toys, games, electronics, software, hardware, and
wireless phone accessories via Amazon.com? I have such as store set up at
<http://Newstaff.biz> that sells security-related items. Other example
sites would look like these:
<http://Newstaff.biz?Libertarian> "The Libertarian Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Conservative> "The Conservative Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Liberal> "The Liberal Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Republican> "The Republican Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Democrat> "The Democrat Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Political> "The Political Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Liberty> "The Liberty Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Freedom> "The Freedom Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?History> "The History Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Gun> "The Gun Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Nanotech> "The Nanotech Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Cryonics> "The Cryonics Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Artificial-Intelligence> "The A.I. Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Computer> "The Computer Store"
<http://Newstaff.biz?Security> "The Security Store"
You could point to these, or set up a similar store on your own. (My site
gets a referral fee from Amazon for each item sold. You could set up your
own affiliate account, or use ExI's or support some other worthy cause.)
If you don't have Internet Access, you might be able to grab interesting
content from interesting web-sites and ask them if they mind if you make
this available on your local server for this event. You might even be able
to set up a cache engine to get your server to duplicate some popular
transhumanist websites for local access for this event. With nothing else
to browse (if you don't have Internet access), these sites could get a lot
of browsing....
