Sean Hastings (of SeaLand fame) invited me to Friendster (www.friendster.com),
I joined and it's pretty cool. It's not the first site to explore the six
degrees of separation principle (for instance, there's the now-defunct
sixdegrees.com). But I do like it's design, and the fact that it doesn't have
any spammy popup ads, gratuitious java, etc.
The idea is
1) By mutual agreement, two people on the site become 'friends'.
2) By clicking on one of your friends, you get to see who *their* friends are,
and click on them, and so on ad infinitum.
3) Your friends can leave testimonials about what you are like (subject to
your approval, of course).
4) You can invite people who aren't on the site yet to join, and when they do
they automatically become your friends.
I did a search for Extropian, Transhumanism, Cryonics, etc... and found a
couple of interesting people in my friends network. Still, it would be cool if
we could infiltrate this thing on a massive scale. Might be a nice recruitment
method. So, I've decided to invite this entire list to join as my friends.
To join as my friend, simply click the link below.

Hope to see you there. ;-)
PS: People can upload their photos there, and some of the women are really
cute, especially if you're into punkettes. The guys might be cute too, but I
wouldn't know how to tell for sure.
