    Possibly. On the hand if the broadcast is truly full of factual errors as
    claimed then CNN would be acting responsibly by not publishing the same bad
    information on the internet while it considers a public retraction.

    Network news websites are not "permanent public records" in any legal
    sense. If the NRA wants to sue CNN then they certainly won't need evidence
    from the website to do so. The websites are merely additional publications
    of the network, no different from magazines. The networks are perfectly
    free to decide which broadcast news segments will appear on their websites.
